Lightbulb calaisv ute - why not?

    Hey people,

Does anyone else wish Holden made a Calais ute?
My kids are about to start driving their own cars, so my next car will probably be a ute.
The Omega is too plain, we tradies want comfort, gadgets (and a v8).
the ss, ssv & redline are great, but spoilers and sideskirts get scratched & smashed too easily when going onto buiding sites etc, and I want a comfortable ride, so softer suspension would be nice.

I want everything in a calais, in a ute - so, why not Holden?

would I be the only person to buy a calais v ute if Holden made one?

    sounds like a great idea.
they have so many other variations of models, a luxury ute without all the spoilers & stuff and/or impracticality of a HSV, would be a good idea
I'd imagine it would sell well.

Personally I don't think there'd be a market for it.

    Jumbucks are cheap......

And dangerous, only 1 star ANCAP rating.
I'd rather buy a secondhand base model omega ute than a jumbuck.

well, there's 4 or 5 people here that would be interested, how many people does it take to make a market?
I'm guessing they'd sell more calais utes than granges myself, but, who knows, lol.

anyone from the holden marketing department read these forums?

Only one person in this thread so far said they'd buy one (who is 17 and on their L's, having just bought a car), the rest said they believe there's a market for one. Holden would want to sell many thousands of them.

i would certainly be interested in one, but in the mean time you could build up a SS to suit or just buy an omega, get the interior retrimmed, supercharger put on the 6 (or maybe swap in a v8?) alloys and your set!
haven't been working for over 10 months and I HATE IT. If you know of any positions, let me know please, I'm willing to travel/move if necessary. I just want to be working again!!!
