If I remember correctly you can go 1" wider and 2" bigger diameter from standard wheel size

Anything bigger will require a mod plate

Did you get an engineers report with the car for the wheels?

Or you could just change to stock rims for the rego to make it easier for you

Just go to the nsw transport website and check out the modification guide. No point on getting peoples opinions cause they are not always right. Up here in qld we can put any size rims on as long as the overall tyre diameter is no more then +15mm or -26mm.

    1. There is no 2" rule. Its all about rolling diameter and I'm 95% sure you can only do 15mm more than biggest factory fitted to model.
    2. There isn't a 20" tyre in the profile you will need that will have the correct load rating on it.
    3. Tyre cannot foul any body parts including inner guards when it's turned from lock to lock. Haven't seen a single VT with 20's that manages this.

Short answer, there isn't any way you can legal put 20's on a VT - VZ that doesn't involve getting it engineered.

ive got 20s on my VX SS
and ive got 245/30/R20s and they make the overall rolling diameter 11.8 mm bigger then normal (from memory, i think thats fine?)
the load rating of my car is minimum of 93V, my tyres are 97W.
and lock to lock i dont scrape. at all.

jesus tap dancing christ, go to the vicroads website and search it.

Fairly sure its 20% larger then the largest factory fitted wheel.

VT being 17x7.5 means you could probably at a rough estimate go to a 19x8 and get away with it. But do your maths properly.

not really sure about the whole 2" rule, i'm fairly sure it is upheld in vic as my 'plate' says i can only go 2" larger (or wider, or...whatever!) than standard wheel size which was 15"

The reason being no two States are the same with their modification regulations. The OP is a NSW resident (poor bastard, just like me) and this state has probably the harshest registration regulations in the country. It's pointless asking a forum like this for advice because members are regulated differently and most don't know their own state's regulations, let alone another states.

OP - I don't know the answer, but I suspect the wheels would not be legal in NSW. Your best bet is to check with your local registry or look up the regs on the net.
