So I've had a creaking in my steering for about 3 months now, and I've finally worked it out to be the lower control arm bushes, but whilst i was looking around I found this kit on the Nolathane website. I'm just wondering how tricky it would be to do this stuff myself - keeping in mind I've replaced sway bar bushes and the diff mount bush, so I'm not a complete noob.
the link is asking for year of make and model.. i got mine from repco relativily cheap
i did mine (VS) the only i could do at home was the bush on the radius rod bush, but the top bush (inner mount) needs to be pressed out. i thought i was clever and was drilling out some rubber then G-clamped the centre out, after a few hours of "fun" i read up and found out they have a metal sleave on the outside. i removed the control arm and took them in to get pressed out. then took em home replaced the bushes bit of grease and happy days![]()
inner lower arm bushes most places will replace with rubber not nolathane as its stiff as hell when you do the lowers with nolathane and makes for a not very nice ride
I tune the oldschool way fear on the passengers face and knuckle colour cant go wrong
tabbacco is still my favorite vegetable
they dont need to be pressed out, if your handy with a hammer you can whack them out, both the lower inner and the radius rod in arm bush, fitting nolathane is pretty easy as there bushes are normaly a 2 piece bush and you just push 1 1/2 in one side and the other 1/2 in the other side. the main thing to take into account when fitting polyurethane bushes is to make sure there is no rust, dirt or old rubber left in the hole as this will cuase squeeking and premature wear. personaly i would recomend superpro over nolathane, just my 2 cents.
