Hi everyone, this is my first post here.
Great site, my problem is that i love the looks and lines of the 2000-2001 Holden VX Commodore S sedan. But i have no idea of there reliabilty and general good points over bad.
What considered a good mileage or does that not matter with these? Whats the main problems they have or do they all have simular issues over time?
At the minute i am sharing the family ride with the wife and it is doing my fruit in, it's a good car - auto zafira 1.8 petrol (four kids) mover.
Sorry for the noobish questions but i got to start somewhere, and i don't want a lemon first time around.
no fair...
The main problem is lack of servicing and general neglect. If theyve been looked after they are very reliable and can go well over 300k no dramas. Id look at getting one in good condition preferably under 200k for around $6k from a private sale
the vx are now a fairly "old" car, i use that loosely, but the can be 10-11 years old. Most cars will have a few kms on them and might be a bit rough around the edges. Saying that though, there are the odd ones out there that still look pristine. With something that old, id be looking for something that has documented service history, if not for the life of the car, then for the last 5 or 6 years would be ideal. Also find one you like the feel of and like the look of as at the end of the day your the one who has to drive and live with it. Going by age most vx's would be somewhere between 170-230k kms.
