Default v6 eco running problem NEED HELP ASAP

hey guys I have a problem with a VU Storm motor

had in for a regular service and they said coil pack was stuffed so that got changed but before the service the car was starting to surge a little mainly up hills, anyway changed coil pack and ran fine for a short time and started surging again they then said maybe fuel regulator so we changed that car still surges, then we done a compression test now that was a scarey find all cylinders are different 5 really low 1 really high

motor blows no smoke uses no oil
water was checked for a leak from head gasket and all is great

now i know eco motors suffer from bad valves and that would work on the 5 low compressions but not the one that is around 950KPA so maybe its the heads and they need a rebuild

on the other hand i was thinking ECU or BCM not communicating with each other properly and the computer richening or leaning out cylinders how ever it feels this would make for un even running i guess

I have stated what we have done and my opinions i am very open to someone else jumping in and giving me some more ideas on what to try any help would be greatly appreciated

    cheers Bill

How many k's has your motor done? All the v6 motors pocket valves badly by about 200 to 250 thousand k's. When the engine was compression tested did they do a wet and dry compression test? The wet test rules out piston rings and some bore problems. Does the surging problem happen at full throttle acceleration or just loaded going up hills? Since the waste spark ignition system is very complicated on the v6 commodores they can give funny faults. It may be a faulty DFI module. That's under the coil packs.

mate it was a dry test as for the surging it is across the board but a lot worse going up a hill it feels like it is running out of fuel wil ask the guys to test the DFI module let the fun begin oh and about 80ks on the motor

i know this might sound stupid but seeing as you didnt mention it did you try spark plugs and leads??
i've got 150,000 k's on mine and it started misfiring but the leads and plugs solved it

im geussing the mechanics have checked them but for $100 it just might save you some heartached

ok leads were replaced last service 3000ks ago plugs done last service
DFI replaced surging has stopped for now but now it has a missfire some where
fuel pressure sits at 300kps on idle and goes to 350 while running in gears
    its a 5 speed manual
computer was changed with a test computer and all is well
if i unplug the air fuel meter its keeps running i do not believe this should happen

might be my next option to try out

thanks for all the help guys keep it coming this isnt fixed by a long shot
