    Default Boot-lid Carpet

    Hey guys,

im considering putting boot-lid carpet on the bottom of the lid, just so whenever it's opened, u dont see the bracing, and looks a lot cleaner.

    Any mounting/installation ideas or tips?

    cheers in advance.

I did this to my vn but I found I had to cut a small slit on the bottom of one side of the carpet as the holes for the struts don't line up properly

Oh I'll do it, don't stress.. I just want to know best mouting practises.. I am actually carpeted ply-board, with tech screws, but rattle would be an issue.

I've contacted a trimmer via Facebook, but we'll wait and see I guess.

I sold the vn last week so I can't get pics but what I did was: I sat the carpet up against the inside of the boot where I wanted it to sit. Then I got a pen and marked out all the holes. I then grabbed a drill ( I think I used a six mm drill bit but I can't remember) the hole was just big enough to fit one of those plastic clips through (like the ones that hold the parcel shelf in) and started drilling, you would want to make sure the drill bit is really short or has a stopper on it (a bit of fuel line works pretty good) otherwise you could have little bumps on the outside of the bootlid where the drill bit could hit as it goes through. Then I just clipped the whole thing on and marked where I had to cut for the strut. After cutting it it looked pretty good ( to me anyway)
