Ok so I was wondering if anyone knows what needs to be done to a T700 out of a V6 so it can go behing my V8. I have a VQ Statesman with the 5L and i cant afford to get it rebuilt or get another one. However I can get my hands on an absolutely beautiful V6 trans. Ive read its only a few parts and the bellhousing that need to be changed. I also know know u can get conversion kits for it. Does anyone know what is in them? I need as much help as I can get. This is my only car and I have 2 young kids to cart around so kinda need a quick and cheap fix. Even if its only temperary. Just need something to get me around. Any help u guys can give me would be great.
mate even the v8 boxes standard were barely adequate for the job.
i wouldn't look at putting a v6 box behind an 8 unless you're willing to have it rebuilt and beefed up.
they cost too much to rebuild so i suggest you keep looking untill you find a v8 box in good nick as i've found on ebay many are selling for a fair price and far cheaper than having your's rebuilt or spending the same rebuild money to make a v6 one handle the job.
