Default 18 gauge wire through firewall

Just a question on how the @&$&&@&$ you get wire through the firewall?!!!!! I got a 1993 VP Executiveand putting in some gauges and want to do the wiring as tidy as possible.
I tried going through where the main wiring loom goes through but it's tough as he'll to get into!
Any suggestions where to go through? Easiest possibly?

Thats if it is an auto..

Since mine is a manual, I ran it just next to the main loom on the right side, It was very risky drilling next to it (I was running 4ga), but looks next to factory when its all taped up

I think he means like oil pressure and what not, if it is tacho, just wire off the cluster

erm... is there anough room to guarantee the wire wont foul with the clutch? personally i would avoid moving parts at all costs.

OP there should be two huge wiring looms. one on either side. just put a tiny slice in the body of the grommet with a rozor blade then stick your wire into it. its easy.

says nothing about been manual. if it is there is no grommet there at all. but otherwise there is plenty of clearance if done correctly.

and yes, there should already be a tacho wire inside the vehicle. you will be able to pick it up anywhere from where the harness comes through the firewall, all the way up to the instrument cluster - brown w/ red trace.

Used the brown with red trace (factory) just under the instrument cluster. Heaps easier than going through the fire wall! Thanks bro

Got another one for ya, which wire is the water temp inside the car?
And if there is one, is there a oil pressure one or do I need to install the sender unit before installing te oil pressure gauge? Cheers

its dark green, but you need to run a seperate sender unit for each gauge. you can't just splice into it and use both the dash gauge and the aftermarket gauge. its one or the other.

no oil pressure, just the wire for the idiot light. so install the oil pressure sender, then run a new wire, and go to the gauge.
