Hi guys,
every day I drive past a VN with the ugliest body kit I have ever seen. The car looks in very good nick, apart from being ugly as sin, and has an L67 fitted.
There is a big sign on the windscreen, he wants 5 grand for it (ono). At first thought I laughed, 5 grand for the ugliest VN I have ever seen. But then I wondered about the value of the drivetrain. Its an L67 auto, I dont know what the gearbox is.
If the whole drivetrain is in good nick, is the car worth say $4500 for the parts? And if it is.. how hard will it be to replace my VS Ecotec with? Am I going to be up for much extra to make it fit?
no-one has any knowledge of how hard it will be to transplant an L67 from a VN to a VS? or how much an L67 drivetrain is worth?
5k too much my dad just sold a 1997 vs s3 supercharged l76 statesman with walkies big stereo stainless intake 2into1 excaust system pacemaker extractors rego for $2800 to a car yard as a quick sale nothing wrong with it v8s are more fun imo i think max for conversion 2k.
damn i would have bought the stato lol
i dont like VNs to begin with and this is one ugly sucker. If the drivetrain isnt worth the cash the car isnt worth anything to me. The engine was ok with your dads stato I assume? That seems too cheap to me..
Yea it was a nice car he got over it quick .It went good but only had factory boost 3 pound .It went like a factory one on steroids .We like v8s. But the statesman didnt get the full potential with the smaller pulley i do love the whine noisethe car yard wants $4500 for it they still have it but its to good for a donar imo.
the car yards called out back trading post his numbers on google its in nsw it sounds better than the vn.
nothing wrong with it at all perfect drive train.
yeah it does might look into it. no conversion costs either, i can just swap the drivetrains over and get rid of it again.. cheap way of getting into an L67.
Not looking at a V8 at the moment, maybe sometime down the track if I get divorced. She says one v8 is enough.. of course its her stato that has the v8 lol
its that rubens mica and it hasnt been tortured like the sound of that vn just put a eco tec in it and re sail it good luck cheers travis.
no worries thanks.. i will get a pic of this VN tomorrow, i drive past it every day. It looks like someones dream car.. immaculate.. just I would call it a nightmare not a dreamand I am someone that has a modern kit on an old car.. seriously this thing is sooooo ugly
the stato would cost less, i can just swap the stuff straight over, and the car would resell just fine with an ecotec in it.. I will check it out.
I dont think anyone over 18 would ever like this VN its gonna be sitting on that lawn for a long, long time at that price.. so it would be even harder to get rid of once the charger is gone.
Thats for sure the statesman is tuff sitting on vl walkigshaw wheels new tyres too id go for that and its cheaper.
Good one thanks for the laught

Hey Dakster $5000.00 is way too much money for it. A L67, auto, loom and PCM/ECU can be found from about $2000.00 to $2500.00.
When you do things right, people won’t be sure you’ve done anything at all,,,,,,,,,
449RWHP E85 L67 VS S Pack 6 Speed, not to shabby for a second hand L67 combo. Bang for buck value is about $23.00 per horse power
