Hey guys, Just signed upto the forum although I have been following it for a while, Just got a quick question regarding the installation of the Long Range VN tank into my VK.
Im just a little unsure about the fuel pump setup. Currently I have the standard VK tank with a Carter fuel pump sending the fuel, with the VN tank however they come with a low pressure pump. DO i need to run the low pressure pump to feed my Carter pump? I presume the low pressure pump is there to collect fuel from the swirl pot area...
any help would be great..
yes it would be good to keep the low pressure pump, as im just about to do the exact same but into a vh and am running a 044 external f/pump. ive been told the 2 pumps work best
yep 2 pumps are the go
Hey guys i have been running a vn long range tank in my vb sle for over a year with the original external vn pump and ender unit. I dont think i have an internal pump as the tank was cleaned and repaired before installation an no pump was visible. I do have the problem of having run out of fuel with the gauge stil showing over 1/4 full. The cars gauges have been calibrated to the sender unit but it doesnt seem to be picking up fuel from the lower half of the tank. It will be going in to the workshop (howards instruments in melb) in the next couple of weeks to be looked with some answers coming out of that hoefully. Any info from you guys before it goes would be great so i can give the workshop some better idea of what to look for.
fit an internal pickup pump.
that's precisely the reason Holden fit them to the tanks
