Run through the bedding in process and it should go away.

Get up to 60km/h, brake HARD down to about 10km/h, but not hard enough for them to lock up. Repeat 5 or 6 times without coming to a complete stop, you will smell the brakes. Then drive around for a few minutes using the brakes as little as possible to let them cool down. After that, see how they go.

try some anti-squeak adhesive on the back of the pads. it KINDA worked for me, although the rears still screetch (maybe cos i was stingy with the adhesive on the rears)

Using cheaps**t pads can cause your brakes to squeal like crazy for no reason. I bought some cheap brand front pads to get me through to payday, as my pads had worn down to the point where I couldnt even refit them just to get me through, plus I didnt want to ruin the new discs Id only just fitted a few months previously, so I grabbed a $25 set of calibre brand pads from supercheap, bedded them in properly etc, and they just squealed heaps loud every time I braked. They didnt work very well either as far as stopping was concerned. I usually use bendix ultimate or ferodo brand pads, and Ive never had one problem with these brand of pads when it comes to squealing or noise etc, I find bendix and ferodo are both excellent brands of pad by the way. Anyway, I couldnt wait to get these calibre pads off the car after a couple of days of driving around, attracting heaps of attention every time Id stop. They are deadset terrible. As soon as I fitted the $80 "proper" brand pads, no more noise. Ive still got the pads, I keep them as spares in case I ever get caught out again with heaps worn brake pads and Im broke until payday..

Brake pads usually squeal because they arent making full contact with the rotor.

Either, they haven't been bedded in properly, or there is grime on the disc, the disc needs a machine and the pad is wearing unevenly etc etc

The most common Bendix pad has a titanium strip on them and they dont require much of a bedding in period, however, if he machined the disk and didnt properly get rid of all the graphite left over that could be providing a thin layer of resistance and making them squeal.

Calibre are Bendix... Well, technically both are made by the parent company FMP, but they word it as to not piss off the brand loyalists.

Interesting comment. Of the 15 different brands of pads we do (including Bendix), I could easily show you three sets of $80+ street pad that I almost guarantee would make noise, and two sub $50 pads (in fact, one Chinese made brand that costs us $18ish a set) that I would guarantee won't make noise. Price has very little to do with quality of friction material manufacture (in most cases). An average set of $75+ Bendix GCT is NOT 50% better than something like a QFM Super X or Horsepower that cost $49 a set.

Noise is mostly about being fully contacted with the rotor, and avoiding the harmonics between the backing plate and the caliper itself. The three biggest manufacturing techniques that assist with that is:
    - Soft rubber shim on the back of the pad
    - Side shamfers on the pad material
    - Relieve groove in the pad material

The $18 Chinese brand* I spoke about before have all 3 of those things, yet plenty of $80 pads don't...

    * Not a brand I've ever mentioned on JC! We mainly use it for trade servicing directly to mechanics where it's all about the markup they can put on!

    Quoted for truth.

Im not saying that all brake squeal is just caused by cheap pads, theres heaps of different reasons brakes squeal, im just saying that it CAN be one of the causes. Theres always someone wanting to go on about who owns what brand etc etc, and its usually someone who sells this stuff that is biased towards one brand or another or whatever, I reckon that just as long as what they sell works properly, and lasts ok, then I really dont care who owns or sells it. Im not biased towards one brand or another. I just use, and I also recommend the bendix ultimates or ferodo brands because of the excellent past experiences Ive had with these two over the years since Ive owned my VS, Ive found that these two brands work and wear well for a fairly cheap, replacement pad ,and most auto parts outlets sell them, so theyre available just about anywhere, unlike some other brands...
With them calibre brand pads, it wasnt the way these pads were fitted, or how they were bedded in etc, Ive bedded in hunders of sets of brake pads over the years with no problems,so I knew it wasnt anything Id done, so I mentioned about the noise they make to the guy at supercheap where Id bought them, he said that people always complain about them doing this, so its probably just the cheaper materials theyre made from Id say that cause it.
