Default some road worthy cert questions!

    - VH SL/E
    - VS 5ltr
    - Cammed
    - Turbo 400 Gearbox
    - one piece Tail shaft
    - Mini Spool
    - Quick Shift
    - 2800 stall
    - fully refurbished interior
    - 17" VT international rims

Hey guys just took my VH SLE for a road worthy and this is the stuff that needs to be done!

-back seat not secure.----------------witch it is i cant pull it out
    -back parcel shelf cut
-play in steering column---------------like not even 1mm of play, i took my older commodore there i had much worse play you could pull the column out they didn't pick that
    -Mini Spool---------------------------Has lsd in now
    -LH Water jet not working-------------fixed
-Windows sand blustered--------------cant find one bloody scratch on the windows
-bump stops missing in front-----------didn't know they had any?
    -RH front seat belt frayed
    -Front discs undersized
    -Speedo not working-------------------Fixed
-Tail shaft report----------------------one piece tail shaft
    -engine mounts----------------------- they are new!
-fly wheel cover-----------------------where can i get one for a turbo 400 box - VS 5ltr?
-trans fluid leak------------------------cant find any clean!
    -extension housing leak----------------easy fix
    -front brake hoses
    -Hand brake adjusting
-LH rear seat belt to close to speaker---uhh ok?

now they didn't pick up on my rear springs being chopped, i have crack in the headers they didn't find that or the hole in my exhaust..

now on the road worthy form it says A certificate of road worthiness can only be issued if a second examination of rejected items is completed satisfactory with in 7 days of the first examination and the defects have been rectified, otherwise the certificate will be cancelled and another complete examination will be required.

does this mean after 7 days i can go some where else for my test as i am going to go through a family friend to help me out??

When i picked up the car all the young ones came out side expecting me to do a burn out or something i think they where a little to picky.. even the older bloke said they where..

much help would be needed thanks for reading guys

I get the impression they dont want the car passed! Kinda of a hint when they're picking brand new items that have nothing wrong with them.

It means that after 7 days you will have to pay for a whole new roadworthy again.

Nice rort on their part, fumble thru an inspection, do SFA, get paid and still dont have to pass it and possibly cop anything against their name if there is anything on the car that shouldn't be approved.... while you go elsewhere and pay someone else the same amount to get the job done!!!!!

I've had many arguements with inspectors who seem to think things that are original on my cars are modified and other things that are modified, they don't seem to notice....

Oh dear. Why do people cut springs? Your car is a danger on the road.

help cutting rear coils to slammm it - Read all the links in the last post.

Wow... What can anyone say about this... just wow.

Now, every state has slightly differing laws in regards to "Road Worthy Cert" so the form is pretty self explanitory, you have to fix all the defects indentified within 7 days of the issued form.

you can take the same car to 10 different inspectors and get ten different reports and results and different prices too , alot has changed in the way a RWC is done these days in vic which places more accountability on the tester and better record keeping and now pics of the cars as presented . hard to argue with the tester as its up to him to inspect the vehicle and issue the RWC , During the inspection its just that an inspection not a time to repair things but just note what needs doing to obtain a RWC , its then up to the owner to arrange for repairs to be done to fix the listed problems before the RWC can be issued .

Take it elsewhere. The speedometer does not even have to work. They are taking the piss straight off the bat and are probably scared to issue one because they seen the injection setup.

    Speedometer
Vehicles manufactured from 1 July 1988 and licensed buses and taxis of any age must be fitted with a functioning odometer and a speedometer calibrated in km/h.

years ago i took my VB sedan 253 4spd in for a roadworthy and the guy tells me that i have to change the diff " cause he reckons all v8 commodores came out with disc brakes all round from factory " he even made a phone call to the local holden dealership and spoke to spare parts bloke .
i never did get my RWC thru that shop , then the next day at work i asked scotty ( spare parts bloke ) if he'd spoken to this nut job about disc brake set ups , even scotty knew the correct answer .

yeah but incidental rwc items are not as bad as a car that is intentionally modded. my rwc guy wouldve laughed me out of his shop if i had shown up with that stuff on it.

also the regs have gotten CONSIDERABLY tougher in the last few months. with the vicroads clamp down, most rwc guys are too scared to even breathe wrong. my guy is legit, doesnt do any favours and he still got a slap on the wrist at his first audit.
