Hi I seen some superchargers for bout 5 grand. Im happy to pay that but I am wondering what work comes with it and what else is needed for a total cost price for the car running with the new supercharger.
Raptor Superchargers
best you will get
best you will get^^^hahaha
if you want quality that produces the numbers
harrop or whipple
and for 5k you will get just the sc kit
you will need injectors and fuel system
and tune
in reality a properly installed kit will set you back around 15k
if you skimp and do it your self obviously it will be allot less
then you need to look at clutch if its a manual
if its a auto you will need it strengthen at some stage to make it last
cheers GM

for 5 grand you could buy 100 of these.... imagine the kind of boost you could run with that
or just get 50 and spend the rest on supporting mods, up to you really
ok so ive been speaking recently to someone who used to have a supercharger on their car (now it runs a different motor)
you will need a full on set up.
intake.
exhaust (he had to run twin 3 inch)
most likely need to strengthen other parts of the engine (internals)
and other parts on the drive train.
oh and it would be best to upgrade the brakes aswell.
you will also need to upgrade other things like bushes.
pretty much i am not an expert. just going by what i have been told from someone that had this done to their car.
pretty much stated that if you do 1 thing you need to do everything else.
Just like any engine you can make more power with the more mods you do. But in reality you don't need to do all the things drawnite have said. You only need strengthening internals when running boost past the engines limits. You may need upgraded valve springs (turbo's need this so I assume S/C will 2)
I have read that a supercharger and bracket for LS1 from raptor is going for the $2700 mark. Which is not to bad for the price vs boost(power) aspect but as stated fuel system and ECU will need upgrading and you also need to read into centrifugal blowers(raptor/vortech)/pd blowers(harrop/magnuson) and twin screw blowers(whipple) and find out which will suit you and your application as they all start making boost at different RPM's
Budget $3K for the entire fuel system if you go turbo or top mount supercharger, you can get away with a walbro 550hp in tank pump plus bigger injectors if you go centrifugal supercharger. Twin 3" exhaust is also needed, valve springs are a must too.
You could probably have the whole thing done for $10K (tune and all) if you're confident enough to fit most of the gear yourself.

Munz, yeah i was only going on what i have been told.
he had people telling him when he was selling it once that they could get a ss and twin turbo kit cheaper then to buy his car.
only for his reply to be sure but you will need to do x y and z before it will work properly (restrictions etc)
they didnt call him back about buying the car either =P
but what i found interesting was that after he had things done that other things broke down alot faster
for example all the bushes had to be changed as they wore out pretty quick.
but good luck with the supercharging.
hope you do eventually do it.
and im sure you will enjoy it =P
I have a Centrifugal charger on my VT, and I would swap to a P/D one in a heart beat.
