Need a transmission specialist on the brissy north side
So I blew up the box in my vt ls1. I have thebox almost out but I only know of sure shift at Virginia? Anybody know and other trans mobs on the north side. The idea is to fully manualise and strengthen with a hi stall converter.

Scotty @ Sureshift is the only person I would take my box to.
I have used Bupengary Transmissions in the past and they were ok (full rebuild t700) it did eventually break 2years after I sold it but scotty still takes the cake with no BS advice
Cheers mate. How are they for price? I have abou 2500. I was pulling it out myself but after slipping and ripping my nail off I got the shits and will get it towed there

unsure of price never had scotty rebuild a trans, just got him to add a vette servo and all that...best to get a quote
His website quotes 2300 for rebuild of a 6L80e or 1800 if removed and fitted yourself, so I dare say if your keen on saving money grab a mate to help rip it out

I went and talked to the blokes at Sure Shift today. He quoted me $2400 for a rebuilt stronger 4L60E, all the normal stuff, wider bands, clutches, shift kit, corvette servo. Though one thing struck me as strange, when I asked him about the "Beast" reaction shell, he said he doesn't like them and just puts a new genuine one in, he's got to be the only tranny shop I have talked to that does that.

more useless info I found:We have a upgraded one over the beast witch runs a bearing instead of the plastic thrust washer
Redesigned sun gear shell for the 4l60e transmission by strengthening and reinforcing the neck collar spline area using thicker material. Known for loosing reverse, 2nd and 4th gears the 4l60e sun gear shell has a very high fatigue failure rate
