Question It's time for new tyre's, any suggestions?

I currently have Nexen N3000 245 35 19's. They have lasted me 4.5 years 48,000 kms so far. So i think its time for a new set (they are almost blad on the edges). I was quoted $520 each (on sale) for Dunlop Maxx which i almost fell over.

I was hoping to spend around $250 for a Tyre. It looks like I'm not going to get much for that tho.
    Any suggestions?

You can pick up Falken FK452s, or Kumho KU31s for around about $200 if not less per tyre. I would recommend the FK452s to anybody, I've heard good things about the KU31s but i have never tried them.

I have also heard good things about Falken 452, but I will probably be going with Michelin Pilot Sport 3. Check them out.

@ $250 per tyre you can pickup soem good deals on EvilBay.

KU31's / EVO595 & the Dunlop Sport MAXX are quite soft(Treadware rated 280-220. E.g MT et Streets are considered rated between 180) so don't expect more than 20,000Km out of them, but I love the grip of these suckers.

Don't overlook Yokoham CDrive2-SDrive & Toyo Proxies4 @ aroung the $250 mark and a bit longer wearing from a treadware rating @ >300... with FLK452's good value for the money.

YIn the end you get what you pay for and personally I DO NOT skimp on tyres for my babies(Cars)... as the family uses my vehicles more than I do, so I try and get the best I can within reason and $$$ of course.

Just a quick comment Boys & Girls....

ALL tyres are Great/Good/OK in the DRY, even tyres with no tread left on them.... it's in the wet is when you really NEED the grip, this is were crap/cheap tyres fail.

Remember:- You get what you pay for... and these(245/45R19 SAGITAR Sports P607 93W) are horrible in the wet I have been told.

I couldn't get the N3000's last time I got tyres but they did have N6000's which have a different tread pattern and worked all the same for me $220 from memory.

I run hankook evo v12's now - considerably better in the wet but they're about $320 a pop.

How do you find the 452's for noise?? Every directional tire I've tried have been as loud as ###!

I'm running 245/35/19's and got a set of directional nangkang's for $225 a tyre... really good grip in the wet and dry although they do tend to be a bit noisy occasionally

I havent really noticed the noise recently but that may just be me getting used to it

I think for a mid range tyre my N3000's where great. They are a directional tyre but I've never once noticed the road noise every one talks about. I've looked on eBay and Nexen N6000's a set of 4 including postage for $680 so I think I might just stick to what I'm use to.
