Hi all,

I was hoping someone might be able to help me out, I have a 2002 Astra 1.8i with 156000km. The last week the car started surging when I went to accelarate away from intersections or put my foot down to pick up speed, it was getting worse as the week went so when I went to fill up with fuel I put 95 octane in it instead of running 91 as I normally do. By changing octane it nearly solved the surging, but it now has a problem when starting up for the first time in the morning it fires straight away but stalls within 1-2 seconds of start up like it's not getting any fuel or starving it self. I replaced the spark plugs the other day and put some injector cleaner in the fuel but nothing has changed in the start up problem. Yesterday a warning light came on the dash indirectating there was a problem with Emissions control sensor, but this morning the light was gone

I am unsure where to start looking. Does anyone know if the fuel filter or the fuel pump would give a problem like this?
