    Default Rev Limiter Removal

    does anyone know of anyone who can remove rev limiters in the eastern suburbs? dont care what it costs either

    rev limiter is in the chip/computor change the settings to increase max revs

    Maybe increase the shift points

    But why would you want to completely remove it??

    its a 92 VP commodore 3.8 litre factory box......have u done it before if so what results did ya get?

    its possible to get a 3.8 V6 reving out harder than a V8 if the V6 has no rev limiter...........

    yea but it wouldnt last too much longer before something is outside the engine, thats meant to be inside

    a stockish setup wont make any power after 6,000 rpm anyways ive taken my VP V6 to rev limiter in second and theres just nothing there after about 5,200 rpm...

    But why? Gears are there for a reason, and by removing the limiter to rev it higher, it will be revving in a range that makes **** all torque or power - hence the changing of gears to rev in the next gear's power band

    If you want to see what happens after 5500-6000 look at a torque map on a dyno to see where it starts to drop off
