The racing champion's road cars will be revived in spirit with the help of the new owner of HDT.
The man who owns the largest collection of Brock Commodores in Australia plans to revive the famous HDT nameplates in honour of the racing legend.
Queensland mining contractor Peter Champion, 53, who owns more than 40 Brock Commodores, including some rare race cars and immaculate replicas, bought the HDT business last month and plans to introduce a range of new HDT models based on the latest Commodore SS.
"This is about keeping the spirit of Peter Brock alive," says Champion, who also plans to open a Brock museum near Rockhampton later this year. "We want to build cars that Peter Brock would have built today."
Champion says he and Brock spoke about these plans in the months before Brock died in a car crash in September last year. "Brock was very keen to get back into the road car business and we spoke about these plans on many occasions."

We got rep back, yaaay!
I think the 1 of your car would look better with the bonnet bulge from the red one.

Lets just hope some of the money goes to Brocks foundation, fair enough that it should really
Oh god, all ugly concepts didnt think the VE could be made to look worse. Great to see people still trying to make a profit from a dead persons name.

Oh dear god how fugly! They need a much more modern design they look awful giving modern cars an outdated twist just doesn't work for me. I wonder if they come with an energy polariser.
HDT as continued over several owners since Brock sold the company after his split with Holden. Peter Champion bought the company earlier this year and is in the process of reinvigorating the company.
To say he is doing it simply to profit from a dead guys name is both unfair and inaccurate. The owner has a long history of putting his money where his mouth is when it comes to Brock Commodores. He commissioned the Austin replica to be built along with the restoration of the VK Group C race car that Brock drove at Goodwood a few years ago. He also has many of Brocks earlier race and road cars, most of which were bought many years before his untimely demise.
It's perfectly understandable you don't like the styling - many people won't but I am surprised you want to sink the boot in for them having a go.

If I was in the market for a new HSV or SS I would buy one in a flash, they look heaps better than any HSV (bar the orange indicators, leave them clear).

they look awesome, brings back the old vc hdt's in a new modern twist, also hdt have been making hdt's the whole time, on special order bassicly, they had wh statesman and vt/vx hdt kits and mods that you could have fitted at hdt, etc. so its not like they have just decided to build a car, its just that the VE happens to have the stylings to make it like the VC hdt, which i think is awesome, IMO anyway.
love the white one aswell, wonder what that would look like with the rear spoiler of the black one.
I like them,I would buy them in a flash.
