lol dont worry too much mate, i saw a vx yesterday and i coulda sworn they were put on the wrong way![]()
The fronts are on and at least it still stops ! but geez you have to bash the crap out of them to get them off and use the rim as a clamp to get the new ones to run true.

how much did they set u back? let us know how much difference they make as well mate![]()

You need to clean the rust off the hub and they go on a lot easier. I don't know what they cost but I do slotted RDA ones for $140 a pair.
thats what front right looks like

How come they weren't marked on the box's or the rotors? it's how i knew different box and markings on my VP ones.

there is no right or wrong way to install slotted rotors, if the internal vains are straight. if you have rotors with straight internal vains, installing the cuts in the surface only comes down to.. expelling the gases toward the inside or outside the rotor. now i have read somewhere that reverse cuts are best for driving in the rain (dont quote me) cant seem to find it..
if there curved.. It doesn't matter which direction the external slots are pointed. The rotors are installed so the the internal vanes are expelling air from the center of the rotor as they turn. The only purpose of the external slots is to degass the pad area and that can be accomplished no matter which way the external slots are pointing. That is why it's best to rely on the direction of the internal vanes to insure that you're installing the rotors properly. When installed and viewed from the top of rotor the internal vanes should be pointing toward the rear of the car.
this is a good explaination.. StopTech : Balanced Brake Upgrades & Brembo Frequently Asked Questions
vsv8berlinawag, i cant see the internal vains in ur first pic, so double check there installed correctly.
cheers

Additionally, all of Brembo's slotted discs are directional as well, regardless of the vane geometry. The discs should be installed such that the end of the slot nearest the outer edge of the disc contacts the pad first. Taken from Brembo.
The slots on StopTech AeroRotors are cut in the OPPOSITE direction of the vanes. Taken from Stop Tech.
According to this, the slots face forward, which is the way I always fit them and recommend them to be fitted. LowVP, yours are on backwards.
This is the way mine are, DBA are marked with a L and R, this is what DBA said to do
this is how they look
I dont know about other brands, and i am not trying to prove anyone wrong
Disc Brakes Australia - Disc Rotor Orientation of DBA Slotted Rotors
Rears are slightly dearer but yes, $300 for a full set is pretty good. Yes I am an RDA dealer here.
I'd be avoiding bendix if you're low rotor wear. They're not exactly known for their rotor friendliness...
If you're after a very good pad with low rotor wear and dust these are hard to go past:
QFM HPX VT-VZ Police Spec Performance Brake Pads
Assuming yours is VT-VZ. Or else if you're not after a performance pad their standard range is $35, and even softer on rotors again.
Regardless of which way (or whom) you go with, just stay away from Bendix...![]()

I do redsuff for $220 and $125, but the police spec pads are good also.
how long would it take for the pads to be delivered or is there somewhere in melbourne that i can go to get my hands on them?
is it wise to replace the rotors first then replace the pads later or should i just do it all in one hit? i'm still using the oem pads, in which the fronts need to be replaced (front squeals at times and steering vibrates on braking). sorry about hijaking the thread.
In stock, so 1 or 2 days for postage tops...
Can do either. Provided that when the rotors are replaced, a good amount of brake clean is used, and all the anti-rust oil is removed, then ideally replace both at the same time.is it wise to replace the rotors first then replace the pads later or should i just do it all in one hit?
