Default Victorian Rules

hey and sorry for creating a new thread.
I have spent a lot of time reading existing threads about the maximum legal size wheel i can put on my s2 VX acclaim but i am confused; some are saying 2 inch law applys some say its 15mm.

Can somebody please clarify what the maximum is for my car. It came stock with 15 inch and the tyre placard has specs for 15inch and 6 and 7 rim code.

Thanks alot

PS Please reply ASAP as i am booking my rims tomorrow

Personally i wouldn'd be too worried about what rim size ur after, as long as tyres are fine no one will care.
Unless your going to go excessivly big.
What size are you looking at getting?
Easiest way to check would be to go to the cop shop on the way to buying ur rims, and ask them directly.
As all you will find on forums is ppl's opinions and not truths

wheel size is no more than 25mm wider wheel than stock. so 8" is fine.

2" rules doesnt exist in vic. it is no more than 15mm bigger than stock tyre rolling diameter, and either 15mm smaller or 25mm smaller(cant remember which)

so as long as the tyre is correct rolling diameter, you can go as big a diameter wheel as you want.

most cops dont know wheel and tyre requirements, and will probably tell you the old 2" rule.

what i am typing is NOT my opinion, it is what i have learnt from reading on forums, and other websites.

read the wheel and tyre section in this pdf

http://www.vicroads.vic.gov.au/NR/rd...340/0/VSI8.pdf

it is part of the vehicle standards info for victoria

miltiadis-s ring your insurance company and make 100% sure what size you are allowed and get it in writing.
It's one of their first get out of jail cards.

Insurance companies never know relevant state laws. If you go by what Vicroads say you CAN DO you will never have an issue.

And even so, the 2 inch rule, what did ANY vx come with, 18's? if that was the case, you could put 20s on no probs, and if they even only had 17s, you could go 19's no probs, its not what YOUR car had, its what the biggest for the model was
