Ripshift is noisy and ruins the gearbox. A billet shifter is the way to go. Better, stronger and it has an adjustable shift for even shorter throw etc...

I got my T56 from Mal Wood, and asked if i can get a Ripshifter put onto it before delivery.
He said there would be no warranty if i put on on it, and theres no need, as it already comes with a Tremek short throw shifter. Guess they could be a 3rd option (unless Billet make them)
I've never missed 3rd, and you barely have to think when changing, it just does it all for you.

how the hell does a ripshift ruin a gearbox, have never ever heard that one before
been running mine for over 12 months without a problem and quiet as the standard shifter
the billet still uses the crappy remote design

For the most reputable gearbox builder in Australia to not recommend them, there has to be something wrong with the ripshifter

yeah he doesn't sell them so he wouldn't make any money fro recommending them
so you still haven't answered ,how does a ripshift ruin the gearbox?
I know all of the fastest LS1's in oz are running a rip and have never heard of any gearbox breakages from them

Um what? whats making money have to do with anything?
As i said, the most reputable gearbox builder in Australia wont recommend them, and will offer NO warranty on products he's built if using them.
Even if i was to buy one after, he's still not making any money off of it......He doesn't have that Rep for no reason...

thats what he works for doesnt he to make money if he recommends a rip he doesnt make money on it if he sell the shifter that he stocks he makes money
he wont offer warranty if its not his product
GMM have a good rep to and they have the first VE bolt on in to the 10's
so you still havent answered how does a rip ruin the box?

I'm not qualified to answer that, as i don't know.
If i buy a product, its mine. Therefor, any service after that i receive from him is a bonus. the Tremek shifter fitted isn't his product either, but he will offer warranty with that Either way there are flaws in your comment.
He's not the first person to steer me away from a rip shifter on a T56, so when someone of his experience says not to get one, it was more than enough to stop me buying one. Do you even know what the word reputation means? I've never heard of GMM, yep most people i know here know if Mal Wood, who is about 4000k's away.

if you arent qualified to tell anyone why make the comment, you have never seen any damage done first hand so how can you make a comment like they ruin gearbox's
GM motorsport mate they make the ripshift first cam only VE into the 10"s
if you havent heard of that you muse not be up to date with LSx series development
go onto LS1.com you might learn a few things
and the ripshift is ship over the world can the same be said for mal wood shifter?
