Hey,
I have a VR thats auto is dying, I want to put in a VR/VS 304 and T5 manual from a complete donor wreck, doing the work myself. If anyone has done this before, are there any major issues with:
Installing manual clutch hydraulics and pedals into an auto bodywork?
V8 engine/trans mounts to existing crossmembers (V6/V8looks similar from what I've seen)
Wiring, can V8 BCM/ECM engine wiring plug into existing, or is it easier to change over the whole looms?

mechanically it's a straight forward operation, it should bolt straight in. the mounting bracket for the clutch pedal is already there, you just gotta fit it.
wiring is a little different. you would need to use the V8 loom as it's different to the V6 loom, the VR uses a different PCM to the VS and aren't interchangable. if you did a complete loom swap it should work. from memory, if you get a memcal for the VS PCM with the VATS (car security) deleted it should work with the VR BCM??? best to speak to Dr Bob with regards to the PCM/BCM problem

Thanks for the info, I might try to get a VR donor V8 and simplify the wiring.
