hi guys,
I own a 2000 vt series 2, i was wondering if you could help me.
i was driving my car the ather day when i heard a knocking sound coming from the front of my car it didn't start until i was going over 60k's or more. the faster i went the worse it got, there is also some realy bad vibrations going through the car.
Any ideas?

Sounds like one of the pulleys or the water pump. With the engine off grab each pulley and give it a wobble to see which one moves.
i have a sound like that
exact same car aswell
except mine clunks when i turn corners
not all the time
just every now and then
detonation maybe?? because usually if theres a knocking sound coming from the engine, thats not good, you might bend conrods and stuff. its caused by the early ignition of the fuel/air mixture. the exhaust gas in the cylinders is expanding trying to push the piston down but because of inertia or centrifugal forces...one of them lol....the piston still travels up, causing damage. it could be that, or it could be somthing else.

If it's dependant on car speed rather than engine revs, then I'd be looking away from the engine. I know when I had a ****ed bottom end, the knock only got worse when my revs were up, totally independant on speed.
they run duel knock sensors.. if it was pingin youd lose alot of power n the engine light would come on..
