It will sound the same. There might be slighttt difference but you really won't notice it. It will be a bit louder around the headers though, as in towards the front of the car/in cabin.

in the car and at the front will change, in some cases sounds abit tinny.
    tail pipe sound won't change.
your engine will run cooler and feel more free with a slight increase in power.

got to disagree with the first part of this, i don't think it will make the note deeper. but then again i could be wrong as this is going from experience with a v6....

I had a catback exhaust on my VY SS, then put on extractors and hi-flow cats and it really opened the exhaust up. Sounded a lot less muffled and car went a whole heap harder. Different engine to you i know, but i think you will notice a difference from the extractors.

The change in sound generally comes from moving the position of the cat/s around - a longer length of post-cat exhaust will resonate lower than a short piece of the same diameter.

I will agree with everyone to a point.

They do change the sound, sometimes you can notice it, sometimes you can't. Increasing the power is sort of correct, what they actually do is increase the torque and change the range of available torque.

The reason they are called extractors is because the tuned length ones actually have a scavenging effect on the exhaust gas that is inside the combustion chamber, hence the term extractor, they extract more gas from the heads.

on my vn it didnt make the car louder (apart from the whooshing sound around the extractor area) but id did make it sound meatier. At that point i had a vn s1,with genie extravtors, a thick 2.5 inch exhaust, powerchip and a pod.

Sound changes to some extent. I wouldnt say they dont make a diffence in sound. If people say this then their hearing aids need to be turned up a few notches.
