Default Where to buy a good battery from?

It's time for a new battery once again, I seem to kill one a year or less these days due to the added strain I have inflicted with the audio bits, gauges and extra lighting bla bla bla....

So my question is... Where can I get a really good battery from? Looking to spend between $200 - $400 so what do you guys think? I am based in the Liverpool area...

I am looking to go tonight after work so a prompt reply is appreciated!

    Cheers
    Rich

Try Battery World. The nearest one to your area might be the one at Penrith. They have a good selection and know their stuff.Battery World | Stores list

I am now starting to work off the saying 'pay monkey's you get peanuts'.

Yeah it does do something special, runs the silly amount of power I require for between 2-4 years as apposed to spending $150 every 6-8months!

+ my sound quality has increased nicely too....

marine/truck battery. Usually far more solidly constructed than general automotive batteries. Infact it is how all batteries should be constructed- there shouldnt be any difference.

The other thing I was about to suggest is the gel batteries- dont know much about them, apart from I would expect it to be worth around $300, they dont lose charge, and they last longer than you are likely to keep the car.

Last two cars I've had (both Commies) I've been using Bosch gold batteries. They are around the $150 mark from Supercheap and had enough juice to run a 300W and 800W amp for hours, and still turn over the car first time.

    I'd swear by them.

All i can say is if you get a cheapo it will only last a year, get one of the more expensive ones like century with a cca of 550a! more than enough and will last for years

kenworth have their brand of batterys, dunno who actuly makes them tho.
460 cca @ 6 hrs, you can leave you head lights on all night and still start easly in the morning.
when you get the battery you allso get six glass vile's of sulphuric acid (the battery is dry)when new

that would be alright burnz, i knew the bloke that does all the mechanical work for the hyundai/holden driving team that follows the ekka around aus and they use a battery that could be thrown off a 2 story building (what i was told anyway) cant remember the price but it was expensive.

    I'll second you on that

I've had a Bosch battery in my VP, and have one now in my VQ. The one I had in the VP lasted for three years, and wasn't showing a sign of weakness when the car was written off earlier this year. I could leave it playing music (55w head unit, 300w amp) for hours and it would start first try. The car covered over 100,000km in that time.

Got a Bosch Gold B67 (Extra Long Life) in my VQ now, comes with a 3 year warranty. They're a great battery. I've had it 6mths so far, and no water loss Fell asleep in the car for three hours with the music on, and it started without hesitation. Highly recommended

recently purchased a acdelco battery of ebay at a great price,

Its a new fangled calcium chloride type and is going well so far. the suppliers basically end up being these guys:R & J Batteries - Contact Us.
They supply many places and if you pay up front they'll possibly deliver to your door for no extra.

delco batterys are very very good, and they only make sealed calcium batterys now, my mate has one in his vn, we ran his stereo for almost all night with a 2000w amp and it still started fine, i couldnt believe it

as far as good batteries you cant go past a deep cycle. I have an Optima blue top, brilliant battery have had it for about 4 years now, was running a pretty decent sized audio system for 2 of those years. They arent cheap but they are sure worth the money. plus being a sealed battery there is zero maintanence. Other brands to look at would be Odyssey, Absorbed Power or the Exide Orbital for a bit cheaper, there are others out ther but optima and Odyssey are the the most common and proven performers

I personally wouldn't highly recommend Century. I had one in my first car, a Mazda 626, and it didn't last very long at all. But I've only had experience with one, so my judgement could be unfounded
