SAVE GAS FUEL FITS Holden Ute/Vectra/Viva/Commodore 31% - eBay, Air Intake, Fuel Delivery, Car Parts, Accessories, Cars, Bikes, Boats. (end time 08-Dec-08 20:00:00 AEDST)
they do work but they dont do heaps like they claim.
for the price theyre askin you dont have much to lose so just buy one and find out for yourself
id love to get one and do a dyno before and after just to see, I doubt it could give the gains they say it would, any fuel savings would be from a restricted air intake anyway.
in theory they should work, they sound they are based on the same principle as head porting when you try to get a good swirl pattern,(read up on this in performance mannuals),but I think they would need to be after the throttle body to be any good as the butterfly would disrupt any good flows straigth away, and as mentioned before they may also restrict airflow and possibly drop air pressure into the engine ,so in a nut shell they should do something but what? who knows
Sorry guys. They're snake oil. If anything they'll make your car run worse.
Looking For A Miracle: We Test Automotive 'Fuel Savers' - Popular Mechanics
Similar system to Hiclones.. in the 4wd industry they are regarded as absolute rubbish.
dont see how it would work and wont believe it until i see proper figureslooks like a scam (dont waste your money)
I've just picked one up last week and have only used it the last couple of days,
and its to early for results but i'll let you know. Right now the car seems to be travelling well, but i've also had my HSV chip put back in with increased power mods. So in about two weeks i should be able to get a feel for things.
holy crap totaly forgot bout this thread.
well i decided to do it and buy one.
and i must say. its worked :O
b4 i got bout 320 to a quarter tank.
now im getting bout 380 to a quarter tank.
the power... i did feel a tiny bit better in throttle response.
but for 15 dollars and saving 50 kays a tank im pretty happy![]()
hahahaha i reckon thats why i got the thing to help out a bit.
i dunno why i have hell bad fuel economy
its not hellll bad. but i think at 320 to a qtr tank isnt that great specialy a 6.
but buicks do use alot of fuel im told
320 to a quarter tank of petrol is godd damm excellent! im lucky to get 100 to a quarter of petrol. even in my old v6.
EDIT: just re-read. do you mean you get 320kms between full tank and quarter tank, as in 3/4 of a tank?
bloody hell, id would ba happy as larry with 320k out of my old ecotec. 1280k's out of a tank!
really? geez i thought i had bad fuel economy. clearly im wrong then
and i meant 320 from full to a 1/4.
hahaha yeah see not awesome but now after the "fuel saver" im getting bout 380 from 3/4 of a tank, so its a bit better
nope i have ALWAYS used premium 95, sometimes i use 98 but not since the fuel saver
Save your money. They D O N O T W O R K.
Have you been driving anywhere you don't usually? If not, I think you will find that your driving habits have changed without you realising. While consciously keeping an eye on fuel economy, you've probably been driving softer than you were before you installed the saver. I can't really see these things working in actuality, I think it would be a placebo. You can convince yourself you're running better, but you don't know for sure![]()
well it scored him an extra 50kms,so it cant be said that it isnt working regardless of whether it was a placebo effect or not![]()
