I have just got hold of a VC, sight unseen, I was lead to believe it had a RB 30 in but when it arrived it turns out it has an injected 202 from a VK I think,
My question is should I flick the 202 and put a RB30 in and continue with my original plan or should I stick with the 202 and amend my plan?
This car is being built up for an offroad car and we wanted 225-250 reliable hp.
I should have said the RB30 plan was basically head work, headers, cam, micro-tech 10, and tidbits to give us our hps.
(all components picked by pros not me!!)
yeh the injected 202 is out of the vk, only model to have an injected 202, upto you, rb30 good for power, i had an injected 202 in my first car(vk) they go and go and go, and can be worked nicely, also if u want can add forced induction if you want, seen that done to them.
i prefer the injected 202, but thats my opinion, plus its already in there with everything for it.
i had a vk calais with an rb30, good strong motor
rb 30 mate all the way
Injected 202's are good motors. They were just never really used because it was the last of the aussie 6.
The managed over 250hp out of them in the red motor. Get this one dyno'd and see what its doing in it's current form.
The RB30 is a far superior motor. But if you already have the 202, I see no reason why you need to change. The black motor doesn't suffer the same issues with the pistons as the earlier red motor and after all is said and done, its 3.3ltr.
