Hey guy's I am building an RB30/RB26 motor in the UK.. I have managed to source most of my parts for some pretty good prices.
The main thing I am stuck on now is piston rings. I am running stock non-turbo bottom end so needs some piston rings to freshen it up. Can some one please tell me if the turbo rings fit or if I specifically need not-turbo rings? Also an someone give me the details of a cheap supplier in Aus for the parts? Preferably one I can contact via e-mail/website! I gather there is an ACL piston ring kit for around $100 but cannot find a suppleir anywhere?
I have got a good price for ACL mains and big end bearings but if someone can give me a supplier I can check on these too.
The other option is what do you guy's do about non -turbo forged pistons? does anyone do them? how much?
Cheers
Lee
rings should be the same.
look on ebay.
does the RB26 head even fit?
I thought you were meant to use the RB25?
You will be able to get ACL stuff through a shop like "Repco" or "Bursons"
as for forged pistons to suit your application, wiseco make 'em off the shelf :

Hey guy's thanks for the replies..
RB26 head fits fine! Different size bolts that's all.. but you can just use the RB25 head bolts instead.
Bonus about piston rings..
Piston wise I had been looking at hypereutectic ones as they are a bit cheaper than forged.. I think hypatech is a brand in Aus?
Does anyone do a pistons like this for the non turbo motor?
Cheers
Lee
By the way,
a reply on another post says the rings are different? top ring and oil ring are apparently different on the RB30ET.
Any recommendations for stock RB30E part suppliers please so I can get the correct rings.
Thank you
Lee
