Default Manual compared to Shift Kitted Auto

    Hey guys,
Just wanting to get a opinion on what you feel is better and why, a worked manual or a worked auto trans w/ stage2 shiftkit. For arguments sake say in a VN.

I used to drive a VN SS 5LT manual which was fantastic, but never a shift kitted auto that had been worked on, is it as clean cut as "dont wanto do a xfer from auto to manual so il get a shift kit, or is it a power thing.

any help would be great thanks.

yeh, from what i have read a lot of people dont recommend going the full manualised auto, rather convert.
Pimpt6 with the stage 3 manual and the 3-4 stally, what is the benefit of that is it more for drag?

It depends on what you plan to use the car for. If you take your car to track days, or just want something to fang around on the street with then I would say a manual, but if you're after quick quarter mile times then a shift kitted automatic and stalled is the way to go

If your using it purely for drag times, get an Auto. (Although, in my opinion, only times with a manual count. Anyone can nail the go pedal and steer)

If its any other form of driving (Track, hill climb, street) you want a manual!

I would go the shift kitted auto, Because i get bored of shifting gears after a while. Whats the point of having a luxuary car and having to work heaps to drive the thing.

For something with shit all power i drove on the weekends, I would go manual.

For something with some serious balls, i would go a stage 3 auto, cam and a massive stall.

Whats the purpose of the car? that plays a big part in what you should get. As said, Auto for quick strip times, anything else, manual!

A well sorted auto is pretty nice to drive. Remember a stall converter can shift the power around to actually multply the torque in parts of the curve. Like other said, it comes down to the purpose of the car. If you are looking for long winding roads a manual would be the go but as a daily on the street a good auto is very lazy and convenient.

I personally cant drive auto's. on long trips and such i like to play with the manual shifter and have fun. Auto's are the lazy mans car. Driving a manual well takes skill.
