    Question vt?

    Hi, What mileage would be considered to high to purchase a vt,and what sort of things go wrong with them. cheers Terry

    250,000km is high. The V6 is an ecotec, which is generally on borrowed time after 250-300,000km if not looked after well.

    If it's a series 1, and a V8 (304), then it's probably going to outlive you if looked after. If it's a series 2, and a V8 (LS1) then they have issues of their own back then, related to oil rings and piston slap. Some are dodgy, some are good, it's luck of the draw really.

    I would suggest looking for a VX either way They look a little nicer, and have some of the VT bugs worked out of them.

    AGREED Plus nicer interior choices too. Find red leather...

    you could always get another motor for $300
    Its more just the other things on the car that wears out
