Cool has anyone retrimmed their Interior??

    Hey guys,
I'm looking to do my interior and saw this ad on e-bay

The guy quoted me just under 2k to make my VY look the same as the photo of the first VY (the first set of pictures)

SEAT COVERS HOLDEN COMMODORE VE VZ VY VX VT VR VS VN VP - eBay Seats, Interior, Car Parts, Accessories, Cars, Bikes, Boats. (end time 14-Mar-09 14:59:24 AEDST)

Anyway, my question is has anyone done this to their car and how is it? or can anyone suggest a better place to go and have it done?

    Thanks for the help guys..

"according to what i read on the all intelligent Wikipedia:P
"leatherette is a fake leather usually made by covering a fabric base with plastic. The fabric can be made of a natural or a synthetic fibre which is then covered with a soft PVC layer.
Leatherette bound books and 20th century cameras are good examples of leatherette. Leatherette clothing of various kinds (including lingeries) also exist.

A disadvantage of plastic "leatherette" is that it is not porous and does not allow air to pass through it, thus sweat can accumulate if it is used for clothing, car seat coverings, etc. However, one of its primary advantages, especially in cars, is that it requires little maintenance in comparison to leather and does not crack or fade as easily.

During a fire, leatherette may cause additional serious skin damage because it not only burns more vigorously than leather, but can also melt.
whereas according to these guys reborn leather is actually made from real leather:

This product is strictly not Vinyl related which is PVC based.
Reborn leather is a by product made from genuine leather. We import the material from Germany in bulk.
Basically unused leather processed further to make it automotive suitable.
During the process some chemicals are added to increase the durability, scratch & UV resistance.
The texture, looks & feeling are all exactly the same, you are sure to be impressed.

Yes, K Rudd i'm sure will be chuffed to find out i'll be using his recession bonus to re-trim my ride, just have to decide on what colour to go for, the car has the blue theme inside, although it needs new carpet and rooflining, which i'm considering doing in black, so may open up some more colour options once that is done. Now i can also get a shitty old calais rear seat from the wreckers and trim that too

Mate I hope you have better luck with that guy from Proseat than I did. His communication is horrible and after 6 months of screwing around I'm asking for a refund. I didn't receive my product. He kept telling me oh it's not done yet until I got to the final straw and decided it's just going to keep going.
"Nonsense, this is the kind of coverings what we humans wear at this period of time. I'm quite sure of it."

I recieved my trims about a couple of months back, and they look pretty good. Max (from Proseat) said that he would e-mail instructions on how i can "easily" put them on myself.. and of course he never did.

So I'm getting them put on by a trimmer i know, and he has had to make minor alterations to make them fit same way as the original trims fitted (things such as loops behind the trim where wire goes to make them tight) and there is a part on my middle seat armrest that is supposed to have a piece of material there when it is folded out (so you can't see the inside of the plastic frame). the trims i got didnt have it.

this whole process is such a headache i would suggest NOT to use ProSeat. Nice guy in person but offers no support and makes you feel like he stole your deposit until you accually see the product (for me was almost 6 months). Also the trims are made oversea's phillipenes or malaysia. i cant quite remember. thats how he can offer such a low price

I have also just installed new black 2 piece plush carpet from Knox Auto Carpets. which were a pleasure to deal with. i think i paid for it on a friday and was delivered to me on tuesday. i paid $150 and $25 postage to my door. took a day to install but car smells like a new one. loving it!

will have to take some pictures and upload them
