    Wow, it's.. different.

It'll probably look better with a kit (like most cars).

    Thumbs up 2006 VE Commodore

In my opinion it looks pretty good.

I thinks it's pretty damn close to the VE Commodore that we are going to get. It has the GM Family Resemblence on the front, but the back is new. It closely resembles the Torana TT36, which is a dead giveaway (obviously where the picture is modelled from).

It's fresh, bold, distinct and definately in a position to be sent round the world with any GM badge on the nose.

I think Holden has it right.

My opinion? It isn't a commodore, it's a slightly extended vectra...
But I new this was going to happen, if you look at all the current model Holdens there all have that very similar front and style...

I don't mind it too much really, and in my opinion it looks a lot more sleek than the last platform (VT-VZ). It does have an audi look about it, but call me crazy I think audi also took influence from holden, ie the rear lights. Can't remember what model audi it is, but they look a bit like VS rear lights! (you'll prolly need to squint hard to see what i mean)
Back in the hope things have settled down...

    Cool VE 2006 Comment

2006 VE looks weird Id Have 2 say, even the Vz i dont like .... Duno what Holdens are doin but they gota start with a new platform and the VE is the car and its really different have 2 wait till its realised and see it in real life.I Still say the vn and vt are the best looking commodore of there time and still are....

    Simple and Effective!
    Cheers.

Well it's unusual, a cross between the torana, vectra and as a couple so far have said audi.

I'm a Holden supporter through and through but I can't say I'm that wrapped in it at all. Still it could be like the VT, I never liked that one bit but it certainly grew on me.

Spy's concept drawings have a way with being way off the mark. In this case I can't see it being too different but be sure that the finished product will be something better than whats on paper.

Hey come to think of it... do you reckon those headlights look a little Focus? I mean the one that's only just come out, not the one that's been around for nearly a decade...

That drawing is pretty close to all the concepts and the wheel base it's built on so it must be close, I think it looks ok for a car we are not used to, I still remember how bad the VN looked when it came out, it was worse than this : )

Which seems to be all the rage these days. As long as it's not a tacky push button start I'll be happy.

    Default Commodore Hatch?

I think it's a very good looking car, just like the current ZC vectra, and as someone mentioned, it will probably look better with a kit.

I think they'll probably make it available as a hatch as well, looking at the photos in this month's Motor magazine. Does anybody else think so?

If you remember, Holden released a concept vehicle a couple of years ago that was a hatch. It was bright green and they called it the SSX. If they brought this car into production (and the cool green colour it was made in), I think it would be a hit!?

I don't really like it, IMO the VX is the Hottest of the Commies.
It does look very very Audi, as soon as I first saw it I thought maybe someone accidentally put a picture of an Audi.
We'll just have to wait and see for now, if it does look exactly like that, you'll never see me go near one. I'll stick with the VT/X shape, I didn't like the way they went with VY/Z.
I don't use windscreen wipers, i just use the superior handling of the STI to dodge the rain drops.

Hi guys this is my first post on this forum, i searched on google specifically for pics of the new VE and it directed me here. I must say first impressions are i like it, well as much as you can from a sketch. Don't mind the euro styling as long as it has the aussie family car size about it and an aggressive look with the kit. (Not everything euro is bad, i absolutely love the benz e55's in a classy revhead kind of way)
Anyone have a clue when it might actually be released?
