Default Tip on how to stop your rims from getting gutter rash

This is a very simple thing..but from the amount of second hand late model wheels I have seen..with scraps all over them for sale...then I think I should remind some drivers how to keep from making your "2 thousand dollar plus"..wheels from selling on ebay for fifty bucks or so...the secret is.....USE YOUR LEFT HAND MIRROR WHEN YOU PARK!...so you dont hit/scrap the gutter...just lower the mirror (you do need a mirror that you can ajust from in the car)..so you can see the curb...and...bingo..you can park nice and close to the curb without making a mess of your brand new 22"'s that are worth more than the whole car... unless you have some form of esp..then this is the only method I know.. that will ensure perfect rims..year after year..like any good habit..do it a few times and it is easy...return the mirror back to its normal position after you park..and your ready to go..when you come back to the car..

    Cheers.

My missus could do with this info on her previous cars, but at least now she has a 4WD so she just drives up on the curb

I have one of those little blind-spot mirrors on my left mirror, that way I can see the gutters without having to adjust. : D

ive found two methods to help prevent gutter rash....

    1. dont let you missus drive your car

    2. dont let mates drive your car.

    pretty much worked for me........

Heres a better thought, know how wide your car is?

I've never had a problem (well, i made the mistake of will's #2, lent rims to a mate, came back gutter rashed)

My daily ride is a little Swift, so when I get in the "family car" I end up getting gutter rash...

At least I don't play bumper cars like the old girl. She just recently gave a car-like High 5 to another car as she went into a right hand turning lane. Smashed the absolute crap out of the mirror!
