235 mate. Mayyybe 245's with rolled guards or an insane camber lol. Think you'll need coil overs if your running them in the front tho. 235's me reckons rather than 245's.

As Wavez suggests, 235/45 is the widest tyre you should consider on 7 inch rims without having to involve additional cost modifying the suspension, body or both. The limiting factor is the amount of clearance available at the top inside edge of the front tyre, where it runs very close to the suspension strut.

The "235" part of the number refers to the width of the tyre in millimetres. The "45" part refers to the tyre's profile, which is the ratio of depth to width. The depth is the distance from the rin to the outside circumference of the tyre, measured as a proportion of the tyre's width. In this example, the tyre is 235 millimetres wide and the profile (also known as aspect ratio) is 45% of 235 millimetres.

as said above the ve rims would need to be machined to fit, but im pretty certain the vz had 16in chasers too??

they biggest you could go it 235 but not that common as the 225
255's fit 8" rims thats the max for them too!
stick with 225/16 or as i have traction issues i went 17x8 with 255 plenty of room under the rear guard and grippy too!
good thing a have stacks of tyres spare, i may even sell some if people in need of em?
with all the trouble you went to with the machining etc u could have had bought a set of wheels/tyres for probly the same price and have looks to go with it!
    good luck there mate!

Ive got traction issues too on my VT with the 255 tyres, I can easily break traction under half throttle

Trust me its not the tyres as I have Good Year Revspecs, Excellence and Kumho KU-31
(two sets of 17x8 wheels and tyres)

you paid $400 bucks? i could of sold you my 16" VE's with rubber on them machined out for $300.

you can machine them out yourself to. all you need is die-grinder and air compressor.
all those get judged by me, the king of kings..
