    Default What type of Paint..?

    Does anyone know if there's a particular type of paint i should use if i wanted to paint an exhaust system, simply for a neater appearnce?

    definitiely have to be high heat there is a heatproof paint for doin headers but its only in grey to my kinowledge or maybe you could use engine enamel?

    it can be, if you dont want it to be, get a MATTE colour

    yeah ive seen some engine enamel paints, i always thought they were a pretty cheap and dodgy product though, any one used them, what were the results?

    i did mt brake rotors and calipers about 12 months ago and they still look like the day i put it on pretty much. Obviously an exhaust would get hotter than brakes though

    i used the engine enamel on the old vc mate with the engine plates rocker cover etc... im not sure about the heat with the exhasut though....

    now i use vht heat proof on the vl, but i do have spare engine enamel im keen to use it on it also... maybe take a look or ask at autobah or repco they have a wider selcetion then supercheap.

    I'm keen to paint my exhasut aswell but im unsure if the paint will bubble up.

    Caliper and rotor paint say if you don't exceed 400 degrees celcius then it should be fine. I don't know how hot exhausts get though..

    sprint auto have some very high temp paint that might be worth looking into

    basically i just want to paint the exhaust in a Matt Black, and then match then fuel tank and straps while im at it. I only want a neater appearance thats all....

    VHT Extractor paint......cure it on the car, instructions are on the can. Repco sale starts 2morrow, they will be approx $9 a can.
