Hi All,
i needed to replace my swaybar bushes for roadworthy, the ones that connect to the link pin so i thought that i should replace the link pin with the whiteline heavy-duty item, with the bend in it. My problem is, i have reinstalled one of the link pins, but on the other side i am not able to, becuase the new bushes are much larger and harder. I have been using a crow bar to lever the swaybar up, so i can try to put the nut on the bottom of the link pin, but i can't get the swaybar high enough to put the nut on the end of the link pin. I Need Help! My rego runs out tomorrow and i need my car for the long weekend. Thanks!
Assuming you're doing it with the front wheels off the ground, could you use a jack to lift the control arm up so the link will go through the sway bar?
MUCH easier to do both sides at the same time when everything is unbolted, then the bar is free and you can install the new links easily. The nuts should be tightened with the suspension on the ground or with the control arm jacked up.
