Default can you wind back odometer?

Hey guys, although the title may have sounded a little silly, my question is genuine. I'm looking to replace my cluster, with a level 2 item from a Berlina. Now the one i'm looking at has 270,000 on it, but my car has only done 180,000. Is it possible to wind them back, to match the original Kms? I've also heard somewhere that if they do get wound back, the numbers tend to sit a little crooked.....?

keep looking till you find another one with similar Kms or send it off to VDO and they can change it provided you have proof of the Kms your car has now.

i think a few car yards around my area have done their apprenticeships on vn's aswell, nearly every vn seems to be listed as "genuine low km's 150k"..

sure does raise an eyebrow or 2..
