as in press a botton and it changes?

i assume you would just need an electronic actuator and programming to tell it how far to move

never heard of it being done tho

probably referring to a remote gear linkage. It allows you to mount the gear stick in a separate location.

Lots of cars actually have cables for their shifter linkage, and in that case you can move the shifter to pretty much any location it'll reach as the cables can bend slightly and move a bit and still be ok to change gears

Im sure you would be able to rig up some sort of cable connections mounted to the box, its going to be very time consuming and difficult without some engineering background. If it were a lancer or something would be piss easy but if your talking about the auto shifter on your VR in pretty sure you would be able to extend everything down there to get it further back but its gonna be a pain in the ass and probably expensive too.
