Greetings
I tend to read the forums more than I do post, and I was browsing through the unmarked police thread which caused me to question our car. I purchased this VZ Commodore not long ago for my wife from an auction, the car didn't come with steel 16" rims though like the unmarked cars floating around the place though.
Anyway, here are some pictures.

Did the car have books when you got it from auction?
White 05 V6 VZ Executive - Thrashed Ex Telstra car
and 3 Dangerous non ABS VN's
9C1 as the build option code on the build plate. That will tell you if it's an ex cop car![]()

does the speedo have 2kmh increments - no = not police pack.
why do you think its Police pack anyway?
I once had a VT Commodore that had Services SA in the manual as the previous owner. That as a marked Police car, it also had extra cabling under the hood for the sirens. The roof of the car had a faded number imprint for the Police helicopters to identify it and that didn't have incremental speedo, why? Because they replaced it - the dash is often replaced.
Like I said in my original post, I was reading this thead here: http://forums.justcommodores.com.au/...olice-car.html and saw this in that thread here: http://i99.photobucket.com/albums/l3...g_8947copy.jpg
Holden VZ Commodore / Calais
does it have any of that?
Thats interesting didn't know they were in 2 km/h increments makes sense though.
I noticed on a RTA vehicle history check I did yesterday on a car I am keen to buy that it tells you whether the car was previously a goverment vehicle.
That will cost you $18 in NSW though.
Hi, i just joined this site. and ive been reading what people have been saying about finding out about if they have an x police car or not.
well i bought a 1999 VT commodore yesturday. thinking it was just a pov pack.
i didnt pay very much for it. $2700. and its done 280,000klms. and i did notice that the speedo has every 2klms per line. insted of 5lkms. also. it has FE2 on the id tag. has a LSD, has alot of wires that are unused under the bonnet. and has an interior light button between the heater dails and steering collum. and has 4 screw holes in the carpet on the pass side.
and for only a V6. it really gets up and boogies. and its got a huge metal bash plate under the motor.
it dosnt say BT1 on the tags. but it does have 1PC. so i just need to know. is my VT the real deal?
everyone ive shown it to says it is.
be great if anyone could tell me what else to look for.
cheers.
I'd look for changes to the loom near the fuse box under the bonnet (lots of plugs with nothing attached to them) or see if it has a cop chip in the ecu
Reaper
Sounds like an old cop car to me. The coding is correct for the police pack and the holes in the front floor are typical for either a fire extinguisher or speaker bracket. The bash plate is also typical.
Does sound like an Ex Cop car. Calaber is right, they will have the fire extinguishers in the boot and the Sump Cover. Another thing you will notice if you got the 4 on the floor auto. Is it will flick back into 2nd without pushing the button (Guess cops are rather lazy). Also it will run like a slob on e10 and regular (Runs quite nicley on vortex 98, if you have the money). Also they wont have standard breaks on the front (Will be much larger). And when you show it a corner it wont try to sail around it like most standard commodores; it will brease around quite nicley and flat. There should also be the siren button to the left of the steering wheel.. Though this might only be in the VX model.
Would be nice if someone had a list of what the Po' did to there cars in respect to modifications.
i have a vx ss ex highway patrol car from NSW i have the full service history and original purchase papers to prove it was a highway patrol car and no where on my tags does it have 9c1 it does have 1pc and it also has a heavy duty bash plates under the sump the stealth light switch on the dash that turns all the interior lihgts off it also does have 2kmh increments and drops back into 2nd without pushing the butt on but im not sure if my front breaks are bigger than stock
wheel gap is like a vagina the more fingers you can get in the worse it is
Built not Brought
and
Driven not Garaged
I have a vt series 1 5 liter v8 exec, havnt checked the ID tags but it has the speedo 2k
Increments and it has no bash plate has fe2 and a few extra buttons as well as a full service history CFO
Vic police and documentation, and goes extremely well for a 5litre is only half a car away from
A vx gen3 at 110ks, does it have a 'cop chip'
Apparently the cops don't chip their cars, from what I have read.
The only "cop chips" you'll find in ex-Police cars are the ones that have fallen out of the cops' munchie bag.
