Licencing and illegal cars for P's

Hey can somebody please let my know what will happen to my licence when i move there.I am currently on on green p's in NSW.What is the licencing structure over there?What restrictions is there on P plaates i.e super chargers,V8's.Thanks heaps

no restrictions yet, drive what you want.

we stay on P's for 2 years,
first 6 months are Red P's (12am curfew)
next 18 months are Green P's which doesn't really mean too much other then you will get pulled over atleast twice a week

this guys the right one....

but you won't get pulled over twice a week if you drive safe i've only been pulled over 3 times in the 1 and a half years and 2 were only a random breathe test....and the other was cause i wasn't displaying p plates correctly

and at a booze bus for the random breathe test they checked my licence and my whole car...

yer have to say i get pulled over a bit i have a white vs commodore they never hear supercharger just pull me over for random license checks and brethalised if its past 7pm

i drove round in my calais dumped on 20s with p plates for over a year and only ever got pulled over for havin my foglights on, other than that never had a look from the cops, and still havent been pulled over either
when i cruise past the cops they do have a good look but never do anything more

It depends on if you're a "hhon" or not aswell. If you do the right thing and don't draw attention to yourself, then you will never have a worry. but if you are known to be a dick and drive like a knob, then yeah, you will always be lokoed at.

Also depends on the car. if you buy one that is already known to police, then you will constantly be targeted from the previous owners antics.

All depends on if you drive nicely or not.

Also, from what i know of the mandurah cops, they are very on the ball and are everywhere all the bloody time....ggrrrr

Mandurah cops will get you. They were so heartless, they gave me a defect on christmas eve for tint. I wasnt even doing anything wrong. First week i put my p's up to.

Tips to get picked up less (even if you do the correct thing):

Get local number plates - When i bought my new car it had northam plates on it and i was getting stalked by every single copper there is. I swapped them for local plates and havnt had any trouble. Stock VS Statesman

Take your p plates down - It is true that you will be targeted if you have your p's up. Take them down and try and blend in. Usually just have one in your glove box and one sitting on the parcal shelf so when you get picked up just throw the one at the front up and say the rear one must have fell down. They may let you off, Unless your from Mandurah.

Dont hoon - This one is obvious.

Dont have your stereo loud at lights or out the front of maccas - I have a pretty loud sound system in my car (YouTube - New 2008 Kicker Solo Baric L7 2000watts 1ohm on my boot) and i have never been picked up for it. Why? well its because i dont have it full blast every where i go. While you are in motion its all good, but when you are parked up there is usually only 1 car making noise. Your a target.

Drive with 4 of the same rims - If you have 2 stockies on the back, your in for it. Thats a defect notice waiting to happen, even if they cant sting you, they will get you for somthing like low alternator voltage (true story). Some people think its smart to put your stockies on the front. That will so fool the police man. How about you just put your stockies on before the burnout?

Dont be afraid to over take a cop trying to bait you - Police will try and imtimidate you buy cutting you off and slowing down to stupid speeds. Just overtake them to show your not afraid of their scare tatics and that you have nothing to hide. Also avoid turning off while they are stalking you.

Tell your fag passengers to take their hoods off and dont point - Wearing hoods and masks in the car makes you bait, also if you have a bunch of friends who see a cop car then point and stare at it and then panic, the cops see that and wonder what you are up to. they usually procede to rape you with their baton after that.

For the record:

I have been pulled over 5 times in 2 years (speeding going down hill, yellow, licence/car check, licence/car check, licence/car check)
After i got done for speeding (8kph over) I got fined for no p plates.
The last time i was picked up was at the start of the year before i had my 5% tint again
Since i took my plates down and have gone back to limo tint, i have not been stalked or even looked at by cops.
I like a good skid

Althou everyone has their own opinion, telling someone to keep their "P" plates down is telling someone to break the law. that's pretty stupid dude.

Keep doing the "right" thing, which means keeping your "P"s up in full view, otherwise if they ever do pull you over, you will be paying a $100 fine for EACH "P" plate not visible.

So unless you wanna pay $200.00 everytime you get picked up, i suggest you follow the road rules and your license rules which stipulate you display your "P" plates AT ALL TIMES whilst on them.

Obide by the rules and you will be ok. get a name for yourself about your driving, and you will be picked on always.

Its $50 per plate. Not 100. For me it is worth it. I drive my car around for work and if im getting pulled up for random shit its costing me money even if they dont fine me. Because it is costing me time.

Also i never said he HAS to do it, I just said its a good tip if you dont want to get picked up as much.

As far as i knew, the fines had gone up and doubles on certain things, and some of the guys here at work have been done for not displaying their "P" plates,a nd they have copped a $100 per "P" plate not displayed.

I'm trying to understand where you're coming from, but i still think that's shitty advice, saying to someone that it's be better to not display what is legal to have to display at your age. Ever think that it's that kind of attitude that gets you picked on in the first place?

Just do what you're told whilst on the roads and you should be fine, and considering there are alot more "P" platers that are killing themselves out there on the roads and other innocent people, i'm pleased that there is more attention to them, as certain people have obviously been given their licenses well before their due time.....

id have 2 agree with W84N01 its not the best advice 2 give. Also i think uve jumped the gun here at wat he was tryna say, hes not directing at u, just classing P platers like that in general. dont take offense man just coz ur a p plater urself. we all been there dont 4 get.

1) Dont drive like a tool - this one has been coverd i know.
2) Cops stereo-type people all the time, (P platers in commodores/falcons MUST be hoons)
3) If a cop is behind you, dont constantly check in your mirrors, dont turn your head to look at things too much, and dont make eye contact or look at the police car. they look for these things. (other than standard driving operations), pretend their just another car!
4) hide your Ps, if you dont have them up then its obvious. if there sitting in the very bottom LEFT corner of the windows then you can argue the fact, if you get pulled over ( left side because its slightly harder to see from a vehicle coming towards you (like a cop car when your after cerfew))
5)dont have radar detectors sitting on your dash, looks just as dodgey as stokeys on the back. mount it else where, youll stll hear it beep.
