Testing a Sunroof

Hello All

I am trying to sell a sunroof out of a car I am wrecking and people are asking if it can be tested. The problem is that there is not much of the car left. Is there a way I can hook up the roof for power so that I can show people that it works.

Can I just hook the power wire to a battery and then earth it to the roof section?
