has anyone done a rb30et convertion into a vn-vs?
i have seen a few but i think u would be better of buying a ls1 and twin turbo it lol
but they do fit but i have been told that they dont like the extra weight but should hold up lol
A few people have already done it, look here for inspirationVN Luke's VN
Power is measured in DECIBEL
look up vn luke's vn.
search button is up the top mate.
why would ya bother . but a twin turbo V8 or twin turbo the 3.8lt
i have been talking to vn luke. just trying to get other ppls ideas so i can get the most out of the convertion. so for the motor box tail shaft etc is all in but i need to wire it all up.
Ive seen some cheap single turbo ecotec bolt-on jobs, I'd say there would be a lot more available in the states (BUICK MOTOR) and probably be a lot cheaper bang for your buck sticking with your buick v6.

Yes I know, if you get anymore manly you are in danger of making yourself pregnant!
yep there's been some insane 3.8 development in the states - sus out some of the buick grand nationals they have floating around!
The only problem is the delays & costs associated with shipping parts over, along with not much information around as to what exactly does/doesn't fit, why etc.
It'd be easy to find yourself waiting 2 weeks for a part that doesn't fit, and either having to wait another 2 weeks for a new part to arrive, or machine it to suit, which would incur further costs.
^^ that's why I personally never went down that path - but if i ran a 3.8 orientated workshop or something, it'd be in my best interests to do all that R & D.
with the RB30 it's a case of research->shops->buy go fast bits->go fast.
at the end of the day, this is one of those things with "no right answer" (although it's still possible to fail haha), it all depends on your budget, how much time you have, skills/machinery and what you ultimately want out of the car
in either case - anything with decent capacity and a big snail huffing air into it will be a good ride, regardless of who it's made by, or where.
Yer but I'm sure some of the local shops have had plenty of experience buick V6's- mace engineering, FIT, yellow terra and so on!
If your going down the RB30 path why not cut out the middle man and go straight to Godzilla (half cut)!

hi guys! ive been following the threads that vn luke has been posting about his vn twin charged rb30 sleeper. and have started my own quest for chasis twisting power. calling it the vr rb30 turbo project. im looking for any and all ideas that any of you might have to improve the hp fuel consumption etc. ill be making various parts that i will be selling if any one wants to do the rb30 convertion them selves.
