    Default Fibre Glass body kits

I was offered one for a decent price and im considering it. although i've heard they crack and get damaged very easily

would it be impractical to get one on a daily driver?

    Agreed.

Many people go on about how they don't last but really it is completely dependant upon the quality of the actual bodykit/fibreglass and how it is painted.

I've had mine for 3-4 years now (18 months for the front bar as I went to VS front from VN front) and its still perfect.

They crack when you hit stuff, plastic bends/deforms. Stone chips tend to do more damage in my experience. It's all down to the fact that FG is brittle, plastic is flexible.

If you're talking about hairline cracking in the paintwork just from natural flexing of the kit from driving, it can be largely mitigated by getting a good kit and a quality paint job, but you will pay for it.

All else being equal, personally I'd always recommend plastic, but obviously the reason most people go FG is because they want a particular style of kit which isn't readily available in plastic.

Holden. You're unlikely to find a non-genuine plastic kit, so unless there was a model that rolled out the factory with the style you want, FG is the only option.
