im wanting to get my vt to have the PROPER ve clubsport body kit ( not the crappy fiberglass ones) including the wheel flares, i know this will be a custom job but i think this looks really good. so its basically the ve kit but with the regualr vt headlights and tail lights.
what you guys think of it??
i really need photoshop...
lol dude u did a really good job of that esp using ms paint
great work looks good
The 2nd pic isnt right because you have the edges of the qtr panels inline with the wheel flares when they stick out from the qtr on the ve. I think the ve looks suits the vt better than the ve itself lol
Chuck Norris destroyed the periodic table, because he only recognizes the element of surprise
Wow that look fat I thought it would look to fat but it looks just right
guy i know has this, i dont like the bonnet though.

yeh thats the fiberglass kit of it with out the flares and stuff. i want it in plastic. mite buy the rear bar and front bar and get a panel beater or someone who does body kits to put my standard body kit and the ve kit together
the fiberglass kit just miss the details of the real kit thats why i want to get it custom made
Pretty damn good for ms paint. Hint; you can get photoshop through *cough* less than legal means...
But yeah, agree with Fitzy... Suits the VT really nicely. But also agree with TVR though.. it'd cost a fortune to be made. If you bought the VE front bar, and tore the VT to bits and did a complete custom retrofit... Then maybe a bit cheaper. You'd have to probably change the quarter panels to match up too. Flare them in one direction or something.
I do hope you didn't mean black car with red bar...? Red VT, red VE kit, with black inserts... would look gorgeous. Not sure which spoiler you'd go with... Maybe VX clubby? Has some sharp edges that might match.
where abouts would i find that *hint*. yeh i think itl cost a couple(2-3 grand) of grand but i got nothing else to spend my money on, im on my ps and i cnt do any engine mods so il spend the money on the looks
. hah ano i dnt mean the red front with the black car :P only pic i could find of the ve clubsport straight on couldnt find any in black so yeh it had to do. yeh i most likely will spray it red with black inserts, it looks so sexy :P. yeh with spoiler dono yet.
does anyone know if a panel beater or body kit shop can make a moulding of an already made bar??
All most any body shop will do it but it will be in fiberglass and if you want a brand new r8 front bar your looking at over 2k and that's if holden will sell you one talk to kezza87 about his front bar for his vx
so they dnt do it in plastic??
id say it cant be done in plastice as the physical dimensions of the bars wont suit the dimensions of the vt, i.e wider and higher

As for orignal bars im unsure how they are made I would asume they pump hot plastic in to a mould and let it set
hmm ok thanks guys. well do you think fiberglass is fine to use??
cause i first thought i could get the fiberglass one on ebay for cheap get it molded in plastic and change the bottom bit on the rear bar to the origina,l get it molded together if u get what i mean.
Yeah now I get what you mean glass is good if its done right but plastic is the best I read some were that ebay bars are seconds and cheap rip offs of rip offs lol
If I was you I would make a few call to plastic mobs in your state and see what they say make sure you tell them what you want and why thay will tell you the best way to go about it
thanks mate will have to have a look and see where some plastic mobs are in sydney. the front bar i can get from a shop so thats ok but no shop sells the rear bar only ebay :P. but oh well i only need the mould haha
Good luck champ keep us posted if all gose well make a few and flog em of on ebay you will get more for them as they a plastic lol
well i can get the whole kit on ebay, they say they are the original makers of the kit.
VE CLUBSPORT BODY KIT TO FIT VT VX - eBay Body Kits, Exterior, Car Parts, Accessories, Cars, Bikes, Boats. (end time 22-Jul-09 15:01:29 AEST)
but who knows, its easy to just say that
If you think 2 - 3 grand then your in for a big shock. Especially if the bars are fiberglass. You would be looking at half a days labour just to get the bars lined up on the car (as fibreglass is a bitch to fit), then your looking at the custom flare job which will also be expensive as. Then paint for all the flared and modified panels, the kit. Paint for my front bar was $200 alone + labour. And really, the guards just can't be rolled pumped and flared that much. Custom flares would have to be made, original guards modified to suit, flares fitted smoothed and painted etc.
Then you are looking at wheel fitment to fill the guards, you will either need 50ish mm of spacers on all 4 wheels (thats about $500+ in spacers) or a set of -offset wheels. Longer wheel studs to suit. It all adds up.
Realistically, if you want to include the flairs and have a complete VT/VE mockup you would be looking at well over 7 - 8 grand.
