Default How to remove small rust spots?

    Hi all,

I'm just going to clean up my car a little, it seems like I'm going to have my car for some time to come so I thought I'd remove some scratches and rust.

Sorry I don't have any pictures of the rust/scratches yet, they are just small bits of rust on the bonnet and couple on the roof :S

Whats the best way to remove the rust without having to use a grinder and repaint the surface? Is there a way? they are only small spots... I thought I'd just get some touch-up paint to cover em up ... but have decided against it

Also, can anyone suggest some minor scratch remover? I was thinking the mageuirs or whatever it's called... Mageuir Scratch Remover X 2.0 or ssomething. Anyone used this before or would recommend something different?

if it is just brown rust staining eg, stone chips then you can use super fine steelo and wd40, crc or the cheap water dispersant,
spray it on the spots and LIGHTLY rub the spots with the steelo until they are gone then clean with prepsol, metho etc... and paint.
super fine steelo is finer than the grit in a cut and polish liquid, so rub lightly and you will not damage the surrounding paint work.
scratch x is a very good product. used by alot of car yards during detailing.

You could try some of that stuff that turns rust into a powder.
Then use touchup paint to seal it.

Cant remember what the stuffs called though,, Rust Converter maybe?
