manual valve bodies and shift kits

hi guys, i dont have much knowledge on autos,
can someone please tell me what a manualised valve body does? are they expensive to install? and can i have a shift kit at the same time?

a manualised valve body is the how do i put it the highest stage shift kit which means the auto is fully manualised meaning its like a manual you have to change the gears yourself but without a clutch. only really any good for drag racing, would just be a pain on the street

yeah a fully man valve body is a stage 3 shift kit (the highest stage) my mate got one put i earlier in the year and it cost 500 with a service of the trans. he also instaled a b&m ratchet shifter as he found changing gears with the stock shifter was crappy
