    Default Licence Plate

Hey guys, I'm just wondering if it would be legal to take the white and blue number plates off my car, and spray them black with white writing? I'm assuming not, but it doesn't help to ask others.

No, because the letters and that are reflective . and if you painted them they would no longer like be visable when a camera or what not that a picture of your plates

one of my best mates used to work for a truck transport company who cut the bottom of their numberplates off coz it fitted better on the bull bars the "sa the festival state" part they got massive fines and abosolutely raped by transport SA.

ive been warned by the police for a slightly faded rear number plate when i was on my P's and i seen a guy get a $900 fine for faded plates on a cruise only as few months ago.

Theres quite a few variations mate but hes a few:

A standard plate (prestige/premium/euro) ie you choose the style content fixed is $400

    A personalized plate(prestige/premium/euro)(AA22AA, AA222, AA2222, AAA22A, AAA222) is $200 with a $90 annual fee.

A personalised plus(prestige/premium/euro)(1-6 letters and or numbers) is from $200-$600 and $440 annual fee.

A coloured plate is $220 (standard content)

A coloured personalized is $110 with $90 annual fee

    A coloured P.P is $110 with $440 annual fee

But fck it myplates.com.au is your best bet.

My bro changed 'SA the festive state' to 'SA the murder state' on his plates.

Cant mod the plate your self and its not worth the $400 to change a standard issue plate.Buy some custom plates, they are cheap as chips on eBay now.
