so i went on a 45 minute drive last night from frankston to cockatoo (near emerald) and on the way i passed 2 booze busses, 8 police cars and 2 speed cameras. the police are having a field day out there pulling over anyone in an even slighty modified car and anyone with p's. Anyone else been pulled up?

Whats the issue here? Or is there one? Its great to see police out there going after ANYONE. Hopefully they get a few unroadworthy vehicles off the road at the same time.

yeah there all doing there job this weekend or forever how long it it but where are all these booze busses every other weekend? maybe if they put them in these spots a few weeks/months ago the amount of young people killed wouldnt be so high. on an average weekend you hardly ever see them. where are they all when theres not a blitz?
Yeah I know, Gone of the day, Caught drink driving over the legal limit, You'd have to leave your car there... Never see that anymore.
I've been reading a whole bunch of articles on the VicPolice site, Quite incredible at the levels of stupidity presented by a lot of drivers on the road.

People should have enough sense to drive without being under the influence. We should all feel safe on the roads, not be worried about some idiot who doesn't give a shit about anyone else.

im going to take a risk and take my car down to narre tonight for the jc meet. i can bet my bottom dollar ill be pulled up for a "random" licence check.
Yes its a joke, but its not always the offenders fault. I was caught at .04 the morning after on my P's. (Yes it was stupid, I took the punishment and have learnt from it). Spent about 2-3 hours at the cop shop getting processed, then shown the door.
I asked to be breatho'd again to see if I was able to drive home, and they just suggested I put it off for a bit longer, so I asked if they could check if my friend who was with me could be checked, and they flat out refused. So we hung around in the city for a bit then she drove home with no idea (and no way of telling) if we did the right thing or not.

Thats without them even trying to do you for the usualy stuff like slightly balding tyres (they still have mils from the depth indicator but will still do you, something not secured properly under the bonnet, aftermarket steering wheel, no reverse light.
Some people arent made of money and budget for stuff. hell im riding on a 14inch wheel and trye on the front because i recived a puncture a few weks back and cant afford a new tyre yet.
When your unemployed due to a hit n run accident and the government wont allow you to go onto centrelink due to having a compansation claim against an insurance company. I know i personally have $100 a week for fuel, smokes, food & rent.
Makes it a bit hard to budget for other things. Even a crap brand 15inch tyre will set you back atleast $50 2nd hand. A new one around $100.
I was told this by a cop the other day:
"Your car looks well looked after, and doesn't have bits hanging off, no deafening exhaust and no shiny atttention grabbing stick on bits, so as long as you weren't doing wheelies or something we wouldn't give it a second thought as you drove past"
Which explains how I've been driving my modified commodore and haven't been pulled over even for an rbt in over a year.
From talking to a couple cops lately (all from the same area though), they have a pretty good idea what kinds of cars are going to be causing problems and its not simply a case of "ooh, a modified commodore with p plates, let's get 'im sarge"
