[SA] - Defect Question First Time

Hi guys, my girl friend got defected for too low, wheels to big and window tint. She has to go to regency and will they just check them off or go over the whole car. Also how much does it cost to go to regency as its her first time going there.

don't know the cost but they go over everything most of the time.

my suggestion is don't leave anything to chance if you think it wont pass change it.

rekn it was 132$ for the 1st inspection, they check everything from wiper washers to retracting seatbelts m8, good luck.....

they do idle emissions testing now too. so make sure you have a working cat!

check your sticker or paper it might just be a visual check meaning theyll just check whats on there if not it probly gotta go for a roadworthy which is 132 probly followed by a recheck which is about 86 i think

aww and they dont do idle emission tests there they tell you to go get one then bring the paper back and on a efi motor they wont they did on mine but its a carbie 308 i went to ultra tune and it wouldnt of passed so they just told me to rev it at 2000 and printed out the paper and it passed he was a good guy old bloke corner of port and woodville road

They can test for emissions now but its used for heavily modified cars with engineering being done etc. They dont do it for your everyday car at inspections due to time and price involved. If youve played around the anything on the motor theyl tell you to come back for another inspection with the the emission report paper, which can be fudged pretty easily anyway.

If they suspect your car is mechanically modded, they can do an emissions test

they suspected on mine they asked my dad if its had any engine work he said no they said go and get an emissions report but there obviously dumb coz its lumpy as ****

i had a look on the paper and it just says minor defect and a visual so does that mean they will just check what is written down. Or will they still go over the whole car as i know there is a few other thing they could get her for.

emission test is only an idle test anyways, that is pretty simple.

i went through regency yesterday, its $130 plus $13 GST.. so $143 and yes they do a full inspection, and they wont emissions test you unless they suspect something.
