Twin 2.5" or Twin 3" for vx ls1

hi all,

i have a twin 2.5" exhaust atm that has cracked round the rear of one of the mufflers so its time for a new one, im trying to toss up between another 2.5" with straight through mufflers or a twin 3" that also has rear mufflers. it has a decent note atm but im a bit bored with it. how much louder would the 3" considering that it also does have rear mufflers?

i'd imagine you would get drone out of the 3inch..loudness not to sure on

i would go the twin 3inch, i had twin 3inch on my calais it had no drone and sounded awesome

yeah leaning towards that, for some reason its cheper than the twin 2.5 aswell, which is a bonus, im guessing if it didnt have the rear resonator it would drone like a bitch?

yeah i do like diflippo, i was looking at xforce atm, ive been in a crewman with a diflippo on it, the thing could make jesus cry i reckon. problem is that im saving for a house and dont really have lots of money to spend on it atm so ill have to go cheaper atm

mate i have a vu ss with a twin 3 inch system on it with no rear resonators on it.it has extractors twin cats and the exhaust and there is not much drone and it has the best note going. had the twin 2.5 on it before this one and yes the difference is awesome

xforce are ok but there quite thin and they let a lot of sound out of the pipe and mufflers so there is less nose out the end if that makes sense

ok, so i bought the difilippo 2.5" catback and all i can say is where did my noise go? i thought difilippo are known to be loud, i get a whole lot of drone in 5-6th gear between 80-100ks and no roar anywhere else? does anyone happen to want a brand new difilippo with chrome tips? would i find any more noise without a resi on it? my old exhaust didnt drone without a resi at all will this drone without its resi?

hence getting my sureflow 3.5'' loud on tomorrow, yay!!!

the sureflo has less volume than my 2.5" straight through, but a much deeper note, and no drone

should get a bit louder with time too.
girlfriend thinks it sounds better, and apparently its much louder outside the car than in the cabin.

it has deepened up a bit now but it still isnt the same as what i had of course, only thing wrong with it now is my old exhaust didnt drone at all even without resi my new one drones like a bitch at 80-90 in 6th

delete the middle muffler.

did that with my twin 2.5" had some good volume, little bit of drone, but sounded fairly beastily.

well, idle hands are the devils plaything, had the arvo off so went down to midas today and go 2x 2.5" tubes 570mm in length with flared ends.

chopped the resi out with stubs still so i can weld it back in if i ever want to but i dont think i ever will. migged up the new section, sounds mad, roars like it should
